Eight area Methodist churches formed the Twin Rivers Co-operative Parish. This allowed Fairfield to have a dedicated minister which was a new experience for the church. Rev. Larry Misfeldt was appointed as the Minister and was well liked by all.
New faces started to appear on Sunday mornings and the church began to grow!

In 1999, some much needed repairs were finally performed. These included a new roof, plaster repairs, lighting improvements, and landscaping that included the addition of a granite boulder with “Fairfield 1874” emblazoned upon it.
The most exciting addition was the installation of a circa 1880 bell salvaged from the former Pre-Eminent (AKA School No. 5) schoolhouse also located in Coe Township. The bell was donated by Charles “Boots" and Betty Knapp and the Bell rope was donated by Rose Ron.
In June 1999, a “Bell Raising” was held to install the bell into the church’s Belfry. The bell was installed by Marvin Klundt, Stan Woodburn, Larry Black, Gary Knapp, Don Knapp, Roger Knapp, and Charles “Boots” Knapp.
After 125 years, Fairfield could now ring a bell to welcome everyone to services.
On October 24, 1999, Fairfield celebrated Fairfield’s 125th Anniversary. One of the highlights was having Jessie Golbert sing “Because He Lives”. Jessie was over 90 years old at the time, but she sang beautifully. She also sang at the 100th anniversary Celebration as well.
Former ministers and members attended as well as those from the other churches in the parish. After visiting and viewing old photos, a wonderful lunch was served to over 210 people. No one went away hungry that day!
