The Trustees met on May 12, 1874, to unseal the bids. Trustees present when the bids were opened were William McRoberts, Henry Torpin, and Jacob Flickinger.
The favored bid was received from J.P. Davidson who agreed to build the church according to specifications for $180.00 less $18.00, which he would donate.
This would give him a wage of $2.75 a day for himself and any hands he might employ.
On December 7, 1874, Henry and Hannah Ashdown deeded over the 1/2 acre of land upon which the church was built with the specification that it be used for Divine Worship. If not used for Divine Worship, the deed becomes Null and Void.
