Dedication
The exact date of dedication cannot be given. Some think it occurred as early as September, but others give the date as Sunday, December 13, 1874, which is probably correct.
Rev. William H. Hitchcock was the resident pastor.
Rev. Menander Spurlock of Geneseo, IL delivered the dedication sermon, and the Port Byron Methodist Church Choir was in charge of the singing.
